My son Ian first met Michael Barton when he was 12 years old while trying out for the state 12s school boys team back in 2012, he later made the squad with 26 other boys and they flew to Adelaide that year. Michael was a great coach who inspired Ian to follow his dreams in football, in 2014 during the off season of footy, Michael invited the 2012 state team and others to be apart of his AFL academy. As a parent I was more than happy to sign Ian up as I knew he need to build on his fitness and learn new skills (as in ball handling, strength and fitness) each week the boys did new training skills, Ian loved the program and his great for his fitness. In 2015 Ian was selected for the state 15s school boys with 8 others from the state 12s who Michael previously coached. During that carnival Ian was selected for the All Australian school boys team, who travelled to South Africa, and this year Ian made the state 16s team and was selected MVP for Western Australia in the State 16s Championship carnival held on the Gold Coast. The Rising Star Academy would be of great value for any young boy who loves playing football and I encourage parents to sign their boys up to be a part of such a promising academy take advantage of this opportunity it’s great for our state. I thank you Michael Barton.
On behalf of the Ghiselli family and especially from Tony, just a huge thank you to you all for what has been an unbelievable experience this past week. I know this may sound odd but Tony has not shut up from the minute he arrived home. He just wishes he could go back a week a savour every minute a lot more.
On behalf of my wife Charmaine and myself, we would like to thank you all for your exceptional guidance.
Mike, your support and reassurance for Tony is something he continues to talk about. You have been an outstanding mentor. Take care and wish you all well with your future footy coaching.
I have had a look at your web page and I was particularly impressed with the statement “to bring out the special part of every child’s true talent and to maximise his potential as a player”.
As my son has gotten older (he’s 15 now) I have seen him lose more and more of his confidence each year, as he is not a particularly strong player. Your camp sounds like a great opportunity to not only increase his skills, but his confidence as well.
Thank you for bringing this to Busselton
I was really impressed with how things went and know that he is absolutely ready to improve in a big way so see this as a very important thing for him. Dad knows nothing as is the case with all sons so hearing from people like your team and them demanding more from him will be great for his development as his next 6 months are important if he is to develop to the next level.
I was In the previous academy you ran a couple of years ago and I really enjoyed it. And has been a massive contribution to me playing in the state 16 championships in the Gold Coast right now.
They won 23 goals to 1 today – that’s not doing much for anyone’s game / skill / enjoyment. That’s why your programs are so important for him to keep developing his skill set. He loves you sessions because they challenge him. He knows he isn’t getting enough of that at club level at the moment.
I would like to register Sammy Collins again for next term. I think the program has done amazing things for his football.
Hudson has really enjoyed the training and we can see some of his basic skills have improved over the last couple of terms, so thank you very much!
Kai wanted me to give you some feedback. He’s found the whole experience really positive so far, the encouragement and learning especially from yourself really gave him a lift.
Finally a big Thank-you for everything you have done over the last 7 weeks. Kobe has loved every training session and is constantly outside improving his skills/running before turning up to your next session . All of your coaches have been very helpful and kept Kobe’s passion for football alive during this off season .
Well Done Rising Stars !!!
Busselton Camp 2017
Thank you so much guys. It has been amazing for the boys the have you here. My son Joel has absolutely LOVED the last 2 days & we hope you come back again.
I just wanted to write a short notes of thanks for all that you did for Riley and all the boys over the summer program. I came down each week with other Dad’s and Mum’s from the Coolbinia Bombers, and we agree the program is run with great expertise. The coaches with each year group were engaged and tremendous in their ability: to run really tight and clearly well thought-out purposeful drills; in gaining the boys respect and confidence and then keeping the boys attention each afternoon; and very skilled in passing on their experiences on field, and off field including mentoring the boys on goal setting, the need for practice and bringing enthusiasm and intent to everything they do.
I was particularly impressed with the graduated and appropriate fitness work you set for the boys each week.
But most all of Riles, thoroughly, enjoyed each and every session.
Please pass on my thanks to all the coaches and organisers. Kudos to you and all involved.
By the way, your pre-season training programme has had a huge effect on Riley’s skills and confidence this year. He’s gone from one of the quieter players who didn’t get too much of the ball to one who gets the ball quite a lot. Everyone was blown away by his first game this season and the coach even gave him the best player award, and he kicked a goal to top it off. Of course every kid gets the award at some stage during the season but this was no doubt recognition as “most improved” player. Since then he has continued at that level and many parents have expressed their surprise at how much he’s improved this year. I told them it was your programme that made the difference. Thanks very much!
Hi Michael ,Just some feedback for your successful Academy training programme-
My son Max trains with you on Fridays .
Max’s footy team had there grand final on the weekend which was the first one ever that any of the the team had played in, they won . They were undeafed all season – then they went into the round Robyn comp which resulted in playing in the GF .
We are In the swan districts zone –
Max was awarded by umpires and officials as the Best player of the GF .
I didn’t think I would be saying that ever!!
He enjoys himself every time he comes to your training days . Thanks for making the programme available for all the kids .
Busselton Camp 2018

Fantastic program, well done.
Busselton Camp 2019
I just wanted to thank you, Michael and John for a great clinic run in Vasse this week. Izaac came home fist pumping and a massive proud smile on his face, honoured to receive the coaches award. Job well done and heres to a great 2019 footy season for all.
Melissa oh that’s terrific, so great for her fitness. To be honest , Michael Barton Head Coach needs to take a lot of the credit for Oscars Footy Development. Oscar has thrived under his program since its inception and (Bart’s )encourages the kids to strive to be the best they can be. I like the structure and discipline of the sessions, Oscar feels good after every session & personally has got a lot from the coaches. He does the Sunday , Next Generation session , which is a more intensive program , but also does Fridays at Sacred Heart sometimes too!
